DC films latest attempt at bringing their characters to screen is “Shazam”. And by all accounts it looks, different? Which is okay with me because I welcome any new ideas or spins to the Super-Hero movie genre right now. But, the preview does look goofy.
*The MEAT* The story is *Very Good*. I’m impressed that they took an almost eighty-year-old character with many origins and reboots, then made him fresh and different for today’s generation. I think “Shazam” captured what it would be like to be a boy with superpowers perfectly. A very clever and different Super-hero movie for sure.
*The POTATOES* Zachary Levi plays a real good kid in this movie. But it’s the young actors, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton and especially Jack Dylan Grazer that steals the scenes and makes this movie *fun*
*The Verdict* “Shazam” was surprisingly *Good and Fun*. I do recommend seeing this film in theaters with the whole family because it works on all levels, especially appealing with the young crowd, while having a lot of humor for adults too. Another win for DC.
