#NewComicsDay Due to weather some locations may not have received this week’s books so be sure to check with your local store first before heading in. However the snow will not interfere with Smurfs #Top5 comics to look for when they do arrive. Sponsored by All C’s Collectibles
Avengers Of The Wastelands #1> A NEW STORY FROM THE WORLD OF OLD MAN LOGAN!
In a world where most of the super heroes fell at the hands of the RED SKULL over fifty years ago, a new force rises in the Wastelands! DANI CAGE wields the mighty Mjolnir for the cause of peace, but when the brutal regime of DOCTOR DOOM forces DWIGHT (a.k.a. the owner of the surviving Ant-Man technology) to Dani and HULK in a last ditch effort to survive, the AVENGERS may ASSEMBLE once more! Spinning out of the saga begun in OLD MAN LOGAN, and following up OLD MAN QUILL and DEAD MAN LOGAN, this is the can’t miss premiere of Ed Brisson and Jonas Scharf’s magnum opus! (S) Ed Brisson (A) Jonas Scharf (CA) Juan Jose Ryp
Smurfs Take> I think Old Man Logan was one of the most story to come out of the House of Ideas. I almost felt cheated when the monthly title hardly explored that world and is one of the reasons I can’t wait for this title. A chance to see more of that world and just what happened not to mention the fallout from the villains winning. It really didn’t look like a place you would want to be.
Protector #1> From SIMON ROY (Prophet), Sideways Award-winning author DANIEL M. BENSEN (Junction), ARTYOM TRAKHANOV, JASON WORDIE (GOD COUNTRY), and HASSAN OTSMANE-ELHAOU (Red Sonja) comes a sci-fi adventure equal parts Conan the Barbarian, Mad Max, and The Expanse.Of all the tribes that dwell in the hot ruins of far-future North America, the Hudsoni reign supreme, but even they fear and obey the godlike Devas. When the Devas warn of an old-world demon in the conquered city of Shikka-Go, Hudsoni war chief First Knife decides to deal with the threat personally. (S) Daniel M. Bensen, Simon Roy (A) Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Artyom Trakhanov, Jason Wordie
Smurfs Take> This has all of the elements to be something amazing! Always looking for something new and different and this covers that for sure and there is a shortage of dystopian stories right now. Light week, unique book, and its worth the pickup.
Justice League #39> In the wake of the Justice/Doom War, the Justice League finds themselves stranded at the far end of the universe and facing a challenge they’ve never faced before. But what will they find on their journey? Has their battle with Perpetua had consequences reaching farther across the cosmos than they ever imagined? Superstar scribe Scott Snyder says farewell to the Justice League with a special story that both winds down all the things he started in issue #1-and nods toward everything that comes next in the DC Universe. Scott Snyder (A) Jorge Jimenez (CA) Tyler Kirkham
Smurfs Take> I’m sad to see Snyder go, this has been an incredible run for the Justice League. I had forgot just how much fun and exciting this title could be when in the proper hands.
Ravencroft #1> RAVENCROFT REOPENED!
After the hellish horrors of ABSOLUTE CARNAGE, the Ravencroft Institute has received a much-needed facelift and is open for business with a new staff, including JOHN JAMESON, looking to atone for the part he played in ABSOLUTE CARNAGE. But will Ravencroft return the mentally unstable villains of the Marvel Universe to upstanding citizens and give John the redemption he’s looking for, or will they fall prey to the hospital’s seemingly sinister nature? (S) Frank Tieri (A) Angel Unzueta (CA) Kyle Hotz
Smurfs Take> I have been entertained with the last few Ravencroft stories. I want to know more, and I am feeling more of a pull to this story then the End train that Marvel has currently jumped on. It’s a much more compelling story and I appreciate Marvel trying to give us something new and a little different.
Flash #87> “Rogue’s Reign” aftermath! Central City is in ruins! The Rogues are on the run! The Speed Force is in chaos-and the Flash’s powers make him too dangerous to remain free! But who can bring him in? Plus, a surprise character returns from Barry’s past with a grave warning about his future! (S) Joshua Williamson (A/CA) Rafael Sandoval, Jordi Tarragona
Smurfs Take> Great book, and a great time to pick it up after the awesome end in #86.
Marvel Comic Ghost Rider Bust> A Diamond Select Release! Gaze into the penance stare of this awesome Ghost Rider bust from Gentle Giant and you’ll see why you have to own it! Measuring approximately 8 inches tall, this 1/6-scale resin bust of the Spirit of Vengeance features detailed sculpting and paint applications. Smurfs Take> I don’t want it to look like I am jumping on the Ghost Rider Band Wagon, at times I’ve been the only one on it. This looks amazing and there hasn’t been a whole lot of statues or busts made for him, the last bust I can think of was the small Bowen one and it was nothing like this.
