Meat and Potatoes

birdsprey01-1170x658Well the first mistake I see is calling the new Harley Quinn movie “Birds of Prey” and the second mistake I see is making the Previews not very appealing at all. That said, I did love Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn in the “Suicide Squad” movie a few years ago and I am looking forward to her staring in her own movie.

*The MEAT* The story, unfortunately is *All Over the Place*. I mean, I wasn’t expecting much, but should have been better than this. And I was particularly disappointed in the lack of Batman characters that they neglected to have in this movie.

*The POTATOES* Margot Robbie is great as Harley Quinn, but that’s about it. Ewan McGregor tries his best, but they really didn’t give him much to work with here. And everyone else was just *Weak* to say the least.

*The VERDICT* After watching “Birds of Prey”, my opinion was befuddled to say the least. So, I slept on it hoping that I can get a more definitive opinion. Now, as I write this, my overall opinion is just a *Meh* at best, I loved Harley, but the rest of the movie was seriously lacking. So, unless you just love Margot playing Harley, you might want to wait for this to hit the small screen someday.

Stay Geeky.

*UPDATE* Since I wrote this, it seems that Warner Bros. decided to rebrand the title of “Birds of Prey”. This, after the disappointing box office of opening weekend, the new title is “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey”. Too bad they can’t fix everything else wrong with this movie.
