Classic Rock Wednesday

#CLRW Listener here with you Classic Rock Wednesday…..Thursday edition. Keeping with my, “Soundtracks that Shape Movies” idea I had to bring up this film that’s a work of art in this department. I remember seeing it for the first time in the theater and completely blown away with every scene and song choice that flowed so effortlessly into the next. I left with the undeniable urge of needing the soundtrack even if I already owned most of the songs on their respective albums. If you have not seen this movie, you really should set aside some time and enjoy the musically laced adventure that Baby Driver is.

It’s difficult to pick just one song to Focus on in this hit stacked opus so I went with one of the big standout’s for me while I was watching it. I recall being winded at the end of the scene like I had been thrusted into this moment with no other choice but to run. To see Hocus Pocus performed this song live back in the late 70’s was unusual to say the least as it seemed the vocals changed every time but were delivered with almost comedic showmanship. The song is no stranger to the big or small screen, having been used from everything to sporting events, TV shows, and even a couple of Pixar films. Fact is due to it’s incredible tempo and pace it fit’s so well in just about any situation, well except the first dance at your wedding reception.
