#CLRW over the last couple of weeks I have had a blast revisiting a lot of movies as I focused on the impact of soundtracks for Classic Rock Wednesday. It was over the weekend that gave me pause and I had to use this one for todays choice and for good reason. As a child of the 80’s there was no bigger impact on a young mind than this film and to this day is one of the best films for me of all time. It became more obvious of a choice for today after watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, and to quote Smurf was just weird.
I know this clip has been shared a few times but I couldn’t help myself. The energy and exuberance in this scene are incredible, everything you expect in a parade times ten. I’m of course talking about Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the funny thing about this version of the song; it wouldn’t be available on the soundtrack until 30 years after the films release. I’m the Listener and for todays Classic Rock Wednesday…Thursday edition I give you the John Hughes classic, and one of the best music moments in film. Shake It Up Baby!
