Meat and Potatoes

Looks like we have a real movie release this week. Not a Netflix special, but a real big budget movie with movie franchise stars from the new Star Wars Trilogy and Spider-man franchises. Not sure what it is about because based on the Previews and commercials, it kind of looks confusing. But it is a brand new, big budget movie, so I’m going to the theater to see it.

*The MEAT* It is a Science Fiction story for sure. And it is *A Pretty Original One* at that. Not confusing at all, which was a pleasant surprise. It is about being on another planet, where it turns out that your thoughts can be seen and heard by others. Kind of hard to keep secrets there. A different kind of story for sure.

*The POTATOES* Daisy Ridley is under-utilized here, so I was not impressed with her performance, but I do think she did not have a lot of material to work with. Now, Tom Holland on the other hand, practically carries this movie on his own. He really has the *Reluctant Hero* thing down, you want to root for him and laugh at him at the same time. Dare I say he could actually be the next *Big Action Star* that Hollywood needs so badly right now? I can see him being a young Bruce Willis. But anyway, I *Liked* the acting here.

*The VERDICT* Now, some critics and people have tried to read too much into this movie with their politics. I am saying don’t bother with that, and just enjoy a *Very Fun Original Sci-fi* adventure here. For me, it wasn’t anything special, but it was fun, so I do recommend this film to see, either at the theater or at home.
