Meat and Potatoes

Full disclosure here, I never did see the original “Hitman’s Bodygaurd” movie. Not sure why, must have slipped through the cracks. But, since the sequel is out this week and there is nothing else to see, why not? Ryan Reynalds won’t let me down…. I think?

*The MEAT* Luckily, not seeing the first movie does not leave you lost in the story at all. But the story here is nothing short of *Ridiculous* and I mean that in a good way.

*The POTATOES* Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson obviously play over the top versions of their usual selves here and Salma Hayek, well she is *Way Over the Top*. At first the acting is a total joke, but after the movie sinks in a little, the acting falls into place with everything else. Also, it was neat to see Antonio Banderas on screen again with Salma Hayek, it has been over 25 years since they exploded on the screen together in “Desperado”. And I loved that movie.

*The VERDICT* “Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” is not just another cheesy movie, no it is cheese with extra cheese, then dipped in more cheese sauce, *CHEESE Movie*, But I must admit that I found myself laughing out loud a few times and being entertained by it. So, I will just say that this is one of those movies where you can *Just Sit Back and Enjoy* the ride and turn your brain off for a couple of hours whether you watch it at home or in the theater, it is worth your time.
