Beta Ray Bill and his allies must fight the ultimate battle against Surtur, the fire god responsible for the destruction of Bill’s home planet! It’s going to take an eminent amount of power to defeat this foe! But with his goals in sight, is Bill ready to pay the cost required to return to his former self? (S) Daniel Warren Johnson (A/CA) Daniel Warren Johnson

Smurfs Take> At the end of this and I’m sad. Have really enjoyed this series and the only thing I can say now is when does Bill get his own title?

Dune Blood of the Sardaukar #1> When the choice is vengeance or honor, which lies at the heart of a Sardaukar?
Jopati Kolona one of the Sardaukar: the emperor’s elite military unit. The Sardaukar are unbeatable, unbending in their devotion to the emperor, and feared throughout the galaxy.
When Jopati meets Duke Leto of House Atreides, the house he believes responsible for the destruction of his home planet and family, he will be forced to question a life-long hatred.
Tasked with overthrowing the Atreides stronghold on Dune for his master, Jopati will be forced to choose between duty and forgiveness.
A poignant, blood-soaked tale expanding the rich mythology of Frank Herbert’s Dune by New York Times bestselling authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson with artist Adam Gorham (The New Mutants: Dead Souls, Punk Mambo). (S) Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson (A) Adam Gorham (CA) Jeff Dekal

Smurfs Take> I was already excited about the movie and then the trailer hit last week and just blew my mind. Think I have spice fever as I start to rediscover my love for this series. Now I get it in comic format? The only thing missing from this is Patrick Stewart reading it to me. I know I try and avoid the movie based comics but knowing Kevin J. Andersons work there’s nothing to worry about it being handled poorly. This will be something great and there are a couple of different covers to be on the lookout for this title.

Daredevil #32> “LOCKDOWN” STARTS HERE!
The Angel of Death has come to Hell’s Kitchen and New York City. A series of grisly murders tests Elektra’s mettle and commitment to her role as the new DAREDEVIL, as the city spirals in a state of near panic. Meanwhile, Matt Murdock faces tests and challenges of his own, as the inmates he’s serving time alongside aren’t the ones in the prison targeting him… (S) Chip Zdarsky (A) Mike Hawthorne (CA) Marco Checchetto

Smurfs Take> This has just been an extremely enjoyable read for me. Having not picked up this title in years hasn’t hindered my reading experience or understanding the characters. It’s just a really good story so far and I’m IN.

Strange Adventures #11> Adam Strange may save the world, but can he save his marriage? There are things that happened in the original war with the marauding Pykkts that Adam never told his wife, Alanna, and she wants answers now. Adding fuel to the fire is the possibility that he didn’t just deceive her, but entire galactic civilizations, in his quest for victory-which raises the question: How much has been true in the stories he’s told Earth to mobilize its greatest heroes against an invasion right here at home? This is the big one before the finale. Massive secrets are revealed, as two timelines rush toward a collision. (S) Tom King (A) Mitch Gerads, Evan “Doc” Shaner

Smurfs Take> SPECTACTULAR! One of the best DC series of the year no doubt about it and now come the big reveals. I don’t know what’s waiting for me and what secrets are about to come to light and that is perfectly alright.

Fantastic Four #32> THE BRIDE OF DOOM Conclusion: “The Sacred Vow of Victor Von Doom!”
This issue, DOCTOR DOOM’s actions will change the life of one of the members of Marvel’s First Family in a profound way. Do not miss this final, fateful chapter! Guest-starring: Namor and the Black Panther! (S) Dan Slott (A) R. B. Silva (CA) Mark Brooks

Smurfs Take> Great story, but then I kind of expect that when the focus is on Doom. I know the FF have been fighting to return to the top of the Marvel charts for a few years now but it might be a feat even they can’t accomplish. As wonderful and great as this story has been it’s the follow up I fear, I just don’t want them to lose the momentum and revert to the typical FF. Good in small bursts but lacking distance.
