Meat and Potatoes

“Venom: Let there be Carnage” is the sequel to 2018’s “Venom”. Now, the first movie wasn’t that memorable but it wasn’t bad either. I’m just hoping with adding Carnage as the main advisory here that we can get some good comic book action up on the big screen.

*The MEAT* The story is simple and to the point. Nothing to read between the lines here or look too deep into either. Just an *Open and Shut* movie, which is a good thing. No need to waste our time.

*The POTATOES* I love Tom Hardy and his acting performance is good here. Michelle Williams is back and to be honest, they did not use her talents here at all, very disappointing. But Woody Harrelson, yes again with Woody Harrelson and wondering why they ever cast him in the main role of Carnage because he does not *Fit* in this role or movie at all. I mean, just imagine if they cast Owen Wilson as the Joker. Hurts, don’t it? Well, that is Woody in this movie. I just wish they would have given this role to a younger actor with some “crazy” in him and not someone who has been around for 50 years or so.

*The VERDICT* “Let there be Carnage” was *Entertaining* for sure. And in the comic grading world it would be a solid mid-grade to say the least. There were plenty of nods to the comic books, which was cool, and the special effects were very well done. I enjoyed it in the theater but nothing special here that makes me want more. Just wish Woody Harrelson wasn’t in it.
