Smurfs High Five

#NewComicsDay It’s a great day to be a comic book enthusiast! We go from lean to overloaded as the titles flow unlike anything we have seen in a long time. Hit’s from every publisher await the bold collector this week all you have to do is show up and you shall be entertained! In addition to Smurfs top 5 must reads don’t miss out on Joker, Alien, and Batman Beyond the White Knight available at All C’s Collectibles two different locations, and we’ve got five stacked high ready to fly:

TMNT The Last Ronin #5> The jaw-dropping finale to the biggest TMNT story ever is here! One final showdown between mutant and Foot Clan will determine the fate of NYC. Will the Ronin be able to find some measure of peace or is he fated to meet the same end as his brothers? Don’t miss one of the most epic battles in TMNT history and the conclusion to the comic book event of the year! (S) Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz (A) Ben Bishop (A/CA) Kevin Eastman, Esau Escorza, Issac Escorza

Smurfs Take> The story we all wanted is about to come to it’s unavoidable end. The series has been fantastic and I wish there had been more to it would be my only critical judgment. I have a feeling how this is going to end and not sure I’m ready for that and all of the feels that could come with it if I’m right. I will be picking up the trade when it comes out for sure.

Justice League #75> Oversize special issue! Superstar writer Joshua Williamson pens the beginning of the next big DCU event! It all starts here!

A new Dark Army made up of the DCU’s greatest villains has formed on the edges of the Multiverse! The DCU’s best and most powerful heroes are pulled together in an epic war to push the darkness back! But in the end, they are no match for it! That’s right, you heard it here first: the Justice League are killed by the Dark Army, with only one survivor to warn the remaining heroes of Earth about what is coming for them! FINAL ISSUE! (S) Joshua Williamson (A) Rafa Sandoval

Smurfs Take> What ever shall the world do without the Justice League? I’m excited to see how this story goes and affects the rest of the DC Universe. The one other time they did it was alright but felt they could have gone a little further with it or were just holding back. To be honest I even enjoyed when they killed off the Super Friends in the cartoon, I’m sure this will be a little darker than your average 30 minute Saturday morning adventure but entertaining non the less. Who is the last one standing? Who takes their place? And if you just killed the Justice League why would you stop there?

Amazing Spider-Man #1> WHAT DID SPIDER-MAN DO?! Peter’s on the outs with the FF. He’s on the outs with the Avengers. He’s on the outs with Aunt May! No one wants to see Spider-Man – except for Doctor Octopus. Ock’s on Spider-Man’s tail and the Master Planner has something truly terrible planned for when he gets his tentacles on Spidey. All that, and what does Tombstone have planned? Just in time for Spider-Man’s 60th Anniversary, a new volume of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN begins, and 2022 is going to be the biggest year for Spider-Man EVER! Don’t believe us? We brought John Romita Jr. back JUST FOR THIS!

(S) Zeb Wells (A) John Romita JR

Smurfs Take> The return of Peter Parker! The last few months have been alright but I’m ready for Peter to come back. I think the fresh pallet approach is going to work a lot better than anyone thinks as we get back to a primary focus on just Spider-Man. I like all of the Spider-People in the background and helping along the story but after awhile it just gets distracting. Spider-Man has always been better as a one man show and shouldn’t be on a team let alone the leader of one. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is the art and wish they had picked someone else for this great titles return.

Saga #58> Friends or enemies?

(S) Brian K. Vaughan (A) Fiona Staples

Smurfs Take> Fabulous! Best character driven title ever! They are all so flawed and yet so loveable. You really end up feeling for all of them at one point or another, cheering them on and some you know you shouldn’t. It’s a testament to the skill of Brian as a writer on how this all flows and works so well together.

Thor #24> STAR-STUDDED CELEBRATION OF 750 ISSUES! After a scorched-earth victory against the God of Hammers, Thor and all of Asgard reel from a brutal loss. But some people are never truly gone…And in honor of 750 issues of THOR, fan-favorite creators like J. Michael Straczynski and Walter Simonson return in this oversized issue! Celebrate the long and storied history of the God of Thunder with the writers and artists who helped build his legacy! (S) Walt Simonson, Tom Defalco, Jason Aaron, J. Michael Straczynski (A) Olivier Coipel, Walt Simonson, Lee Garbett, Dan Jurgens

Smurfs Take> Epic! Absolutely fantastic and can’t wait to see the return of Walt even if it’s for a quick little story; I’ll take it. It’s been a fun ride the last few months and I can’t think of a better way to cap off the last story than this. Yes, I know there’re other creative teams in this issue and that’s all-just gravy in my mind, but this is a big standout issue this week.
