#NewComicsDay and it’s a great day to be a comic book enthusiast! Come one come all, there’s something to see and read for everyone! To help you along your way we have the top 5 must reads from Smurf and his take on the issue! Once you get started with those our sponsor All C’s Collectibles can help you further at their two locations. Now sit back and prepare to be amazed with our five stacked high ready to fly:

Poison Ivy #1> Pamela Isley has been a lot of things in her life. A living god, a super-villain, an activist, a scientist, and dead. In a new body that she didn’t ask for and with a renewed sense of purpose, Ivy leaves Gotham and sets out to complete her greatest work-a gift to the world that will heal the damage dealt to it…by ending humanity. Spinning out of the pages of Batman, DC is proud to present the unbelievable next chapter in Poison Ivy’s life by the incredible creative team of G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara. Featuring a stunning cast of variant cover artists, including Warren Louw, Frank Cho, Dan Mora, Nick Robles…and introducing main cover artist Jessica Fong! (S) G. Willow Wilson (A) Marcio Takara

Smurfs Take> After seeing how well DC has handled the Joker title I have high expectations for this series. I know it’s hard to compete with the Joker but if there’s one villain I think people can sympathize the most with it’s Poison Ivy.

Dark Crisis #1> Crisis on Infinite Earths. Infinite Crisis. Final Crisis. And now…Dark Crisis!

The epic event years in the making is finally here! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League are dead. The remaining heroes are left to protect the world from an onslaught of violent attacks by DC’s greatest villains! Can the legacy heroes step out of the shadows of the classic heroes to form a new Justice League? And will that be enough to stop a darkness greater than anything they’ve ever faced from destroying everything? Don’t miss out on the first issue of the blockbuster event of the summer! (S) Joshua Williamson (A) Daniel Sampere

Smurfs Take> I talked about this title on the podcast this week and I know it can never come close to Crisis but I like the potential it holds. There’s only been one other time that they killed off the Justice League and I think some great stories can come out of this starting here.

Thor #26> “BANNER OF WAR” PART 4 Thor and Hulk’s epic rivalry continues in the fourth installment of the characters’ 60th Anniversary crossover celebration! Thanks to Odin, Thor now realizes the gravity of Banner’s situation – and its connection to that mysterious, violent incident in El Paso. But when Iron Man’s interference causes more harm than good, our two rivals face shocking changes that change the stakes of the battle…for good. (S) Donny Cates (A) Martin Coccolo

Smurfs Take> This has just been a fun read so far and it’s something I wish they would do with the Thing and Hulk now. There really haven’t been too many big revelations and I didn’t expect any, but I have been thoroughly entertained.

Savage Avengers #2> THE HYBORIAN HUNT CONTINUES! Stranded in the distant past, Conan must enlist a team of Marvel’s most savage super heroes if they hope to withstand the dangers of the Hyborian Age! But even if they can survive a barbaric new era filled with fearsome threats around every corner, the Savage Avengers still have to contend with the cybernetic soldier stalking Conan across the timestream…DEATHLOK THE DESTROYER! And if that isn’t enough – what happens when an even deadlier enemy sets his sights on Conan? Plus…did we mention the dinosaur?! (S) David Pepose (A) Carlos Magno

Smurfs Take> I like when characters just get throw into the middle of a story and this has all of those elements and more. The chaos that comes from not completely understanding a situation and then a whole lot of carnage…it’s fantastic oh and then you throw in a dinosaur for good measure. Love it!

Krrsantan: Star Wars Tales #1> He thrilled audiences in The Book of Boba Fett — now experience the stories that made him a legend! The deadly Wookiee bounty hunter called Krrsantan is almost unstoppable, but you can get him on your side…for a price. On the desert world of Tatooine, witness Krrsantan hunt down Jedi-in-hiding Obi-Wan Kenobi in a tale set between Star Wars Episodes III & IV! Then, as the Rebel Alliance clashes with Darth Vader, get ready for the ultimate Wookiee fight. Who will be left standing when Krrsantan takes on Chewbacca?! Finally, learn Krrsantan’s origins — from his years in the gladiator pits to an alliance with Doctor Aphra to serve up some well-deserved revenge! It’s wall-to-wall Wookiee action as only Marvel can deliver! Collecting STAR WARS (2015) #14-15 and #20 and STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA ANNUAL #1. (S) Various (A) Various

Smurfs Take> I usually don’t go in for the reprints or collected comics but this one has my attention. After realizing I know the character Krrsantan there are some significant gaps on that knowledge, and this looks like a great way to fill those in. I loved him in the last episode of Boba and how he cleaned house on everyone, I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of him.
