Jordon Peele is back with his third written and directed movie, “Nope”. Now, I really liked his last two movies, “Get Out” and “Us” because Jordon almost seems like the new Rod Sterling of our times. His movies have a “Twilight Zone” appeal about them in how you don’t know what’s going to happen next while the suspense keeps you excited for the next scene and it’s hard to predict the outcomes. Needless to say, I’m excited.
*The MEAT* The story is not what the previews lead you to believe it’s about. Which is a *Cool Deception* if you ask me and that is all I can tell you about that, I don’t want to ruin anything. What I will say is that Jordon Peele’s Directing is getting very, very good. He has the *Suspense Shots* down very well which pulls you into the movie more and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
*The POTATOES* Daniel Kaluuya is back for the lead role, and he is *Excellent* again. Daniel has this fantastic ability to act with his face without saying much and that makes him just a force in the acting community, he will be making great movies for a long time. But the funny thing is he actually takes a back seat to Keke Palmer because she is a powerful force in every scene. It was a treat to watch these two in action.
*The VERDICT* I liked “Nope” because it’s a good *Thriller* of a movie. Now, I don’t think it was as good as Jordon Peele’s other two films, but those are high bars for sure and that doesn’t mean this one is bad. Again, it was fun to be immersed in the theater with an audience that responds to the movie out loud, but it is not a must to see it in the theaters. “Nope” Kind of reminded me of the great low budget movie “Tremors” and that’s all I will say.
