Meat and Potatoes

Finnaly, an original idea from Hollywood that I am excited to see. Quite frankly, they had me at the title alone, “Cocaine Bear”. It has been a while since we have had a ridiculous, over the top, goofy and gory movie done right. I’m hoping “Cocaine Bear” can be just that. I’m not expecting “Citizen Cain” here, just something fun and different. So far, they sure got the title right.

*The MEAT* The story is *Inspired* by true events. Basically, a bear ate some cocaine that was dumped in the woods by some drug smugglers. Everything else is just Hollywood fun and I am perfectly fine with that.

*The POTATOES* The acting is *Ridiculous* I know the actors are supposed to play a little *Over the Top* with their characters, but they didn’t even do that right. It is just so sad that this was Ray Liotta’s last performance. The acting here gets a *Below Average* grade.

*The VERDICT* If I can sum up “Cocaine Bear” in two words, I would say *Missed Opportunity*. Which is very unfortunate because they were so close to getting this one to be like maybe “Tremors” was, but totally whiffed on that. It had some good bear mayhem, but not enough. I also thought the ending was anti-climactic to say the least. So, it pains me to say this but wait for this one to hit the Streaming services because I put the bar pretty low on this, and they still couldn’t produce.
