I am so looking forward to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3”. James Gunn is back with the franchise he founded and built with all these wonderful and fun characters but unfortunately, it is for the last time. I credit Gunn with bringing the fun back to space movies and his last 2 Guardians movies were just that. So it is with fingers crossed that I hope this movie does not fall into all the mediocre Marvel movie slide that has plagued them since “Endgame”.
*The MEAT* The story focuses on Rocket’s origin and all I will say is, it is heartbreaking. But the mayhem and humor that is so well known for all the “Guardians” movies is here and better than ever. Best of all, the story *Completes the Journey* and I appreciated that.
*The POTATOES* The acting is *The Same* for all the main characters and they are all certainly comfortable in their roles by now. The new villain this time is played by Chukwudi Iwuji and he does a good job at playing the High Evolutionary. Guest stars galore sprinkle throughout the movie to keep you guessing as to who you think they might be. That is except for Nathan Fillion, you can’t miss him.
*The VERDICT* Oh Wow!! I really enjoyed “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3”. James Gunn brings his Trilogy to a very satisfying end with all the fun and excitement we have come to love from his franchise. And just like the last two “Guardians” movies. You will enjoy this movie in the theater of course, but you will also enjoy watching it over and over again on cable TV for years to come. I don’t know why, but I feel like this is the last great Marvel movie and I hope that I’m wrong but, I’m sure letting Gunn go over to the DC movie universe will go down as one of the biggest mistakes in Hollywood history.
