Meat and Potatoes

Hey now, we have a Saturday night at the cineplex that is pretty full and basically looking like a pre-pandemic world again. And we have Marvel’s “Black Widow” to thank for this, so it is with great excitement that after 15 months of waiting for this movie to come out, I am at the Dolby Cinama with the biggest drink and popcorn ready to enjoy the overall experience. I hope Marvel doesn’t dissapoint.

*The MEAT* The story takes place after “Civil War” but before “Infinity War” and delves into Black Widow’s mysterious past. It is truly a stand-alone film, so no need to watch anything else, but who has done that, right? A *Good and Solid* story here.

*The POTATOES* Very *Solid Acting* here. Of course, Scarlett Johansson is the same. David Harbour adds a lot to the humor and overall fun. And I was glad to see Rachel Weisz in a Marvel role that was perfect for her.

*The VERDICT* “Black Widow” is good action, good humor, and is an all-around good fun movie, *Worth Seeing in the Theaters*. But the big question is how does it hold up to Marvel Studios standards? Well, I would say in the Marvel universe it is “Middle of the Road” not great, not bad but probably on the “Ant-Man” level. I think they could have done a little better with guest stars and setting up more to come from Marvel and I guess that would be my only complaint. Definitely missed a few opportunities. But overall, I was incredibly happy to get the whole full theater experience again, it has been a long time coming.
